The Hidden Buck | Darren Choate
While driving through Rocky Mountain National Park one evening, I spotted this big mule deer buck. I was unable to stop and photograph the buck because of the inordinate amount of cars behind me. I just happened to return the next afternoon during a light rain shower. I caught the buck in my peripheral vision as I drove by. The buck was in the exact location as the evening before but was bedded in thick cover. Luckily, there was a pull-out just down the road. I parked and carefully walked back down the road to snap a couple shots. I took several shots of the buck, which remained bedded during the entire span of my visit. The buck is a main framed 4X4 with a kicker on its right back fork. Once done growing, this will be a nice buck.
